THE DUTCH TEXTILE INSTITUTE
Welcome at the site of the "Nederlands Textielinstituut" Dutch Textile Institute, or NT in short).
The NT is an association of engineers, chemists, colourists, economists, etc., who work in the Dutch textile industry at large. In addition, employees of companies and institutions having a link with textile production are member as well. These include employees of fibre producing companies, of companies making auxiliaries, of textile machine manufacturing mills and teachers. Membership is also open for companies and quite a number of companies are member indeed. So, the members have various backgrounds and the work they do differs as well.
The NT is a member of the IFATCC (International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colourists). There is a close co-operation with Unitex, the Belgian sister association.
AIM
THE members. Furthermore, transfer of knowledge between the members is promoted. Last but not least, the association wants to promote education and training for the members. The aims are realised by the following activities:
- the organisations of oral presentations of actual themes by national or international experts
- the organisation of seminars (one day seminars, about two times a year)
- the organisation of excursions to textile companies or companies of general interest
- the distribtution of information by internet or by
conventional mail concerning interesting coming events in the Netherlands and abroad.
ORGANISATION
The association consists of three divisions and several workinggroups. Two divisions operate respectively in the Eastern and Southern part of the Netherlands. The third division concentrates on textile finishing. The working groups deal with different subjects. A member of each of these groups is delegated to the general Board. The general Board co-ordinates the activities if and in so far on necessary and is responsible for the overall policy of the association. The policy is established during a general meeting of the members which is held once a year. The secretariat is located in Veenendaal.
